I uploaded my wish list just a few days ago, and I can already scratch one item off! My very first Daniel Wellington watch arrived in the mail yesterday! Let’s take a closer look.
Another impulsive purchase, Denise? Nope, not exactly. Let me go ahead and defense my case here for a moment! Last week I broke the zipper of my favorite jeans. The third time in a short period of time – so frustrating! I thought it was time to look for a good pair of skinny jeans that wouldn’t break as much as those cheap variants that I usually get. But as I’m really into the stuff on my wish list right now, I felt so bummed for spending money on something that is not on the wish list. So I allowed myself to buy one wish list item that’s also available on the website I’m buying the jeans from. And the winner was – the Daniel Wellington watch! So I ended up spening even more money, but at least I got something that I really wanted. Yeah, that’s my logic..
I chose to buy the Classic Sheffield model in rose gold with black straps. I like how the DW website describes the straps – “With leather darker than the deepest parts of the ocean, the Classic Sheffield was carefully designed to stand the test of time while maintaining its effortless beauty. This minimalistic piece proves that simple does not necessarily mean boring”. Amen to that! The straps are made of a genuine leather that is as black as it gets – beautiful! And in case one ever grows tired of these straps (I highly doubt that will happen), the straps are interchangeable. I might want to buy some brown straps one day! The case of the watch is 36mm in diameter and it’s only 6mm thick. This big flat design appeals to me, especially in combination with the minimalistic look.
“The Daniel Wellington watch with its interchangeable straps speaks for
a classic and timeless design suitable for every occasion.”
As expected from a high-end brand like Daniel Wellington, the watch came in a sturdy leather box with a light cushion inside. The box itself is made of a stylish dark brown shade of leather – close to black – with a white strap running across that shows the famous DW logo engraved into it. Inside of the box you’ll find a gorgeous watch and a manual in a fancy looking wrapping. It also comes with a cute little screwdriver you can use to change the straps.
Man, I love this watch so much already! I’ve only had it for a few days, but I’m already attached. It goes with basically any of my favorite outfits, because of the color combination and the fact that it’s so minimalistic and clean. My other watch (from Guess) is very sparkly and glittery. That’s lovely, but it’s hard to combine with other jewelry without overdoing it. This Daniel Wellington watch allows me to wear a bracelet or rings with no problem. It also feels extremely light, thanks to the thin 6mm case. The watch stays put and doesn’t move around too much as the leather will adapt to the size of your wrist after a few times of wearing it. I’m satisfied!
This Classic Sheffield Daniel Wellington watch is sold for €159,00 ($199.00) on the official DW website. It also comes in a silver case. If you prefer a brown leather strap, you can go for the Classic Bristol Lady model, which comes with a dark brown strap.
